Meet the Keynote Speaker

Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch is no stranger to Leading Change. She will share her leadership journey as to how she became the first African American female elected as the Mayor of Michigan City. Attendees will then hear from a panel of area leaders on how they have led change in the culture of their communities and organizations, capacity building and ideas for growing out of your comfort zone.

Mayor Angie has more than 25 years of management experience in the nonprofit sector, telecommunications, and utility sectors. She build her career working for SBC Communications, (now AT&T) and NiSource prior to founding her own consulting firm, I&D Squared which is instrumental in launching workforce initiatives focused on increasing childcare capacity and assisting graduating high school seniors.

As the Mayor of Michigan City Angie is responsible for a workforce of nearly 400 full-time employees and a city budget of approximately $73 million
